The old pumping station was built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s. The WPA was a federal government program started by F.D. Roosevelt during the depression to give work to men who couldn't find jobs. The WPA performed work all over the country. The pump house was restored by the City of Little Canada in 2001. The pump house is located adjacent to Round Lake on Little Canada Road.
