Veterans Memorial Park (formerly known as Round Lake Park) is located on Little Canada Road just east of Rice Street. Amenities include views of Round Lake, two special Veterans Memorials, KIA pavers for local Veterans, a War Dog Memorial, park benches honoring local Veterans, and a picnic area donated through two Eagle Scout projects.
On June 14, 2017, a Dedication Ceremony was held upon completion of Veterans Memorial Park. During the ceremony, the Veterans Memorial Committee presented Mayor John Keis with a plaque formally turning the control of the park over to the City. The City would like to thank the Veterans Memorial committee members
The idea for a Veterans Memorial started in 2012 and took two phases to construct all of the ideas the committee members envisioned. Phase I of the project began in June, 2014 with the upper level features and Phases II started in September 2015 with the KIA pavers, Freedom Wall, and War Dog Memorial.
Sponsor and Veteran paver orders are still being taken. Order forms are available below.
Sponsor pavers are for local businesses or families wanting to honor all of our veterans for their dedicated service. The cost for having your name included on one these pavers is $500. Please fill in your name as you would like it shown on the paver.
Veteran Pavers come in two sizes of bricks. Brick sizes are 4” x 8” with three lines of text with 16 characters per line at a cost of $125, or a 12” by 12” brick with up to six lines of text with 17 characters per line, at a cost of $250. Both bricks will have a 1/16” inscription depth. A separate form is needed for each brick purchased. It should be noted that due to weather, we cannot guarantee the original condition of the brick forever. We do guarantee the original brick will be without flaw. In case of future damage or weathering, the brick can be replaced at cost by the customer. Grouping of bricks will be honored upon request if space is available. Please submit this request with your orders.
